Originally from Brittany, the members of Legal Shot Sound System have travelled and collaborated all over the world. In over 20 years of existence, from Jamaica to New York, the collective has amassed a vast collection of dubplates. Now specializing in Rub a Dub and digital, Legal Shot continues to share its passion for sound systems around the globe.
Founded in 2000 by a group of Malouins, the Legal Shot collective is above all a story of friends with a passion for the same music : dub. Although they specialize in rub-a-dub and digital dub styles, their members embrace the full variety of this musical culture : 80's, stepper and more. For over 20 years now, the singularity of each member has created and enhanced the collective.
After making the rounds of Saint-Malo's bars at their debuts, they all set off for Rennes, a student town with a strong musical culture. Short after, with Polak's move to Paris in 2006, the field of possibilities widened. After having organized parties in Rennes, they moved to the capital, notably at the club Le Glazart. The collective soon began touring the biggest French and European festivals, including the Reggae Sun Ska festival in Gironde and the Rototom Sunsplash festival in Spain.
Legal Shot has its own sound system and studio, enabling them to play specials, dubplates and other exclusives. True to the long tradition of Jamaican soundsystems, Legal Shot never turns down a musical war...
They tour and collaborate with Sister Nancy, Shinehead, Sister Carol, Ranking Joe, Lasai, Top Cat, Murray Man, Daddy Freddy, Greencross, Echo Minott, Michael Prophet, Macka B, Jonnygo Figure, Charlie P... and many others !
